Patrick's professional life began as a professor of Spanish language and literature at Northwestern University. After publishing a scholarly book on Spanish literature, he obtained his J.D., magna cum laude, from NYU School of Law, completed two federal clerkships, and worked as an attorney at a boutique litigation firm in Manhattan.
In 2010, he had a profound spiritual awakening, and spiritual teachers of all stripes began showing up in his life, transforming his view of the true nature of reality. After learning meditation techniques from the Tibetan and Zen Buddhist traditions, Patrick met his current teacher, Mirabai Devi, and Mata Amritamandamayi, also known as Amma, the hugging saint. For several years Patrick apprenticed with Mirabai, undertaking a rigorous course of study and training in spiritual wisdom, prayer, mantra, and healing energy work.
During the final stages of that apprenticeship, Patrick experienced the awakening of his kundalini, the dormant spiritual energy at the base of the spine, and then his intuitive faculties opened up and he began to channel works of spiritual wisdom from a group of Light Beings called the Council of Light. The Council -- as Patrick likes to call them -- offers profound teachings about the nature of the human mind and soul, and what it means for us to ascend into a new model of consciousness and collective activity, transcending our current mass consciousness built on fear and separation.
They often speak of the "Christ Consciousness" or moving into unity and oneness with all. They espouse the importance of forgiving ourself and others, reclaiming a new approach to our sense of identity, and mastering our relationship to time. Under their guidance, we can all learn to claim our fullness as divine beings having a human experience.
Patrick's gift is teaching, writing, and working with clients from a spiritual perspective, with equal doses of compassion and humor. He knows first-hand how difficult it is to "wake up" to a broader range of human experience, including higher states of consciousness, and find support in today's world. He couples this work with a profound love for Mother Earth and the need to protect her.
